What Would You Do If The Sky Was Not Blue?
If You walked out your door and saw the Sky was purple, green or brown What Would You Do?
Would You panic and run through The streets?
Would You turn on The news to see What they knew?
Would You even notice or stay glued to a screen?
Or Would You get on with your day because really nothing else has changed?
Is your security in What You can see or in something more?
When your faith is tested do You pray on your knees or scream “how can this be?”
If The Sky is Not Blue is God not God?
Sometimes we have no control of our circumstances and it feels like we just walked outside and the sky's a different color. God is the same even in the unknown and unexplainable. Sometimes things don’t make sense. Those times are frustrating and scary and it’s ok to feel those things. Tell Jesus about it. Tell him you are scared and angry and don’t know what to do next. But more than anything, TRUST HIM. If the sky is not blue tomorrow it won’t be a surprise to God. He has a plan no matter what life throws at us.
I know it’s easier said than done. It’s something we have to constantly practice. Surrendering to God means surrendering our control, pride and future to him. That’s not easy. Especially when our entire lives flip upside down. When we feel lost, alone and desperate we want to fix our situation. But what we really need to do is surrender our situation.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” Psalm 91:1-2
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
